Adding support for 23 unofficial currencies
PayPal is great when it comes to selling internationally. It supports 23 currencies right out of the box. That means that sellers of at least 23 different countries can receive money in their local currency. But PayPal actually supports more countries in receiving money (76 to be exact) so why stop at 23 when you can essentially support all countries in their local currency, right? That’s what we thought.
Starting today, we’ve added support for 23 more unofficial currencies to our platform. The term unofficial means that everyone is now able to sell items in a currency that is not officially supported by PayPal. If a buyer wants to buy that item, we simply convert the price to USD at the last moment.

We add a margin on top of the original price for expenses that your local bank may charge for converting US dollars to your local currency. This means that you’re finally able to sell in exotic currencies like the Chinese Yuan (元) and the Turkish lira!
