Thanks to a PayPal update it is now also possible to pay for items on Tinypay.me with your credit or debit card. It is no longer mandatory to have a PayPal account as a buyer which means that more buyers are now able to pay for your items!
It is possible to use a whole variety of credit and debit cards, including (but not limited to): VISA, Mastercard, Diner, Discover and American Express. You can get more info about the payment possibilities at the PayPal website.
Update: There were some users who were having problems with accepting creditcards from non-PayPal users. PayPal forced these users to create a PayPal account to complete their payment. We’ve contacted PayPal and they said that there are some conditions when these so-called “Guest Payments” are not available:
Guest Payments cannot be made to a personal or un-registered PayPal account.
Guest Payments can only be made to Premier or Business verified PayPal accounts.
Guest Payments cannot be made using an email that is already registered with PayPal.
So make sure you meet these conditions to be able to receive credit card payments from non-PayPal users.

On June 18, 2010 we won the award ‘Best 25 under 25 “. This award is handed out by the Dutch entrepreneurial magazine called Sprout to the ‘best entrepreneurs below the age of 25 in the Netherlands’. We were pleasantly surprised with this major appreciation of our efforts and work.
Melvin Tercan, our lead developer, received the prize last Friday during a celebratory drink in the city of Utrecht. The jury named the winner Tinypay.me because Melvin Tercan, along with his partners Richard Straver, Valentin Smirnoff and Victor van Rijn, have a great ambition and built web applications that are extremely scalable and are being used by people all over the world.
On the 4th of June 2010 Richard Straver, our designer & community manager, was invited to talk about Tinypay.me at TEDxRdm. Yes, that TED.
Richard: It was a great honor to present at such a prestigious event. Okay – it wasn’t the USA version but still.. I couldn’t get any sleep the nights before. I mean.. imagine standing in a huge theatre with about 2.000 eyes looking at you – it’s just scary.
One piece of advice if you ever have to do this: “Get a dog!”. You see… dogs don’t have these weird issues and if you put your head on top of the dogs’ head, for about 15 min, his relaxing thoughts and vibrations will calm you down. What if this doesn’t help? Don’t blame me and keep the dog! (Also handy in other situations) ☺
